About Me

Hi! My name is Sebastian Echeverria and I was born and raised in Miami, Florida. I recently graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelors of Science in Media Production, Management, & Technology.
I first entered UF as a biology major on a pre-med track. This had been my goal since I can remember and I couldn’t really think of what else I would do. I was raised to think that anything to do with the arts or creativity was reserved for hobbies, not an actual career. However, I had always been more of a creative person -- growing up, I liked writing poems, putting on shows for my family, editing videos of my travels, playing different instruments, and doing arts & crafts. So after a grueling first semester, I decided to pursue a degree in media production in hopes of one day breaking into the film industry to write and direct my own movies/TV shows.
At the University of Florida, I explored making unconventional narratives with limited budget and resources, including a fourteen-minute one-shot, a partially underwater film, and a story set in space. These projects strengthened my technical skills, collaborative mindset, and willingness to take creative risks. They also reinforced my commitment to telling stories that center underrepresented voices.
Film can change lives, challenge ideas, and foster connection, and I want to be a part of that magic.
